Introduction

The reddish brown species is only known from a series of specimens collected at Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, New South Wales. Evans' (1981) placement of the species in Spanotartessus was provisional only.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Brown. Face dark brown. Crown of even length. Pronotum and scutellum dark yellowish brown. Length ♂ 4–5 mm, ♀ 5–6 mm. This species resembles the type species in coloration, general appearance and pygophore shape. It differs in aedeagus shape (Evans 1981).
