Subfamily Siriellinae Czerniavsky, 1882
Introduction
The Siriellinae are generally shallow-water, coastal mysidaceans, widely distributed throughout the tropics. The subfamily comprises three genera and about 67 species (Price et al. 2001). Two genera and 24 species, mainly in the genus Siriella, are known from Australian waters. Müller (1993) and Price et al. (2001) catalogued the family.
Diagnosis
Rostrum obtuse or elongate. Antenna 2 scale outer margin smooth, without setae. Labrum produced anteriorly. Mandible lacinia mobilis well developed, spine row present between lacinia mobilis and molar process, molar process reduced. Male pleopods 3rd pair biramous. Female pleopods uniramous or greatly reduced. Uropod exopod with distal articulation. (Generated from Meland 2002)
