Introduction
Semilaoma laevis differs from S. lidgbirdensis by the more open umbilicus. Resembles mainland Iotula microcosmos. Common and widespread.

Diagnosis
Shell minute, pale yellow to white, depressedly turbinate with a low-domed spire; protoconch with fine spiral lirae, teleoconch sculpture of faint, closely spaced radial ribs and fine spiral lirae; umbilicus narrowly open; diameter 1.4mm.
