Diagnosis

Valves reniform in lateral view, both ends rounded, posterior end without any trace of caudal process. Dorsal margin strongly convex, ventral margin sinuous. Valves strongly compressed laterally; thickly calcified, fragile, completely smooth. Inner lamella wide at anterior, narrower ventrally and posteriorly. Marginal zone narrow throughout. Line of concrescence and inner margin separated throughout. Marginal pore canals numerous, short, simple and straight. Normal pore numerous and open.
