Introduction

Scagacola reducta can be distinguished from S. einasleigh by the combination of slightly smaller size and less prominent spiral sculpture.

Diagnosis

Shell medium-sized, creamy-yellow, subdiscoidal with a very low spire; protoconch smooth apart from some oblique striations at the end, teleoconch sculpture of bold radial ribs above that become degenerate on the body whorl; body whorl with scattered discontinuous spiral striae; umbilicus wide, U-shaped; diameter 16.5mm.
