Introduction

Scagacola is distinguished from both Strangesta and Briansmithia by the combination of smaller size, almost discoidal shape, smaller protoconch and the much weaker radial sculpture on the teleoconch.

Diagnosis

Shell medium-sized, subdiscoidal, last whorl weakly flared; protoconch with very weak radial ridges and faint oblique striations at the end; upper adult whorl surface sculptured with bold to weak radial ribs that become degenerate toward the end of the body whorl, body whorl with discontinuous spiral striae and irregular oblique striations, shiny and smooth below; umbilicus wide to very narrow, V-shaped. Shell colour yellowish-brown to creamy-yellow.
