Introduction

Saladelos commixta is readily distinguished from sympatric rhytidids by the channelled sutures and sculpture of bold spiral grooves. The Palmerville populations may represent a separate species.

Dry rainforest

 

Diagnosis

Shell small to medium-sized, creamy-yellow, subdiscoidal, with a low domed spire; sutures channelled; teleoconch sculpture of weak curved radial ridges and prominent spiral grooves above that continue onto the protoconch, shiny with very weak to vague spiral striae below; umbilicus very wide, cup-shaped; diameter 11mm.
