Species Rubria smalei Evans, 1966

Compiler and date details

21 September 2011 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This species is only known from the type locality of Burleigh Heads in SE Queensland. Specimens from the original type series in the J.W. Evans collection are labelled as having been collected by M.A.E. Smales, rather than "M. Smale" as given by Evans (1966). However, no emendation of the name is needed since Evans (1966) did not state that the species was named after the collector and the original spelling should be accepted.
