[367] [note that both asperrimus and africanus were described in the same paper; we accept here current usage in Australia regarding africanus as a synonym of asperrimus; however it is not clear who the first reviser was; Garman (1913) regarded asperrimus as a synoymy of africanus and many workers have followed his work, but Günther (1870) regarded asperrimus as the senior synonym].
