Diagnosis

This species can be distinguished by the dark scutellum, the brown inner margin of the forewings and the orange to scarlet markings on the head. It differs from R. kirkaldyi, with similar markings in some specimens, in having the brown markings on the abdomen dorsomedially only and the legs without brown markings. In the male genitalia, it can be distinguished by the relatively broad processes from the anterior margin of the aedeagus (Webb 1983).
