Introduction
This species is very similar externally to R. swani (Evans) and R. carmiella Webb so Webb (1983) stated that some of the females he attributed to this species may actually be darker specimens of R. swani. The distribution of the species given here is not markedly altered if this is the case.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
Head yellow suffused with pink, with two round black markings on the vertex close to the eyes; eyes chocolate brown; clypeus wider anteriorly than at the base, frons almost flat. Pronotum yellow suffused with pink, with two black markings behind the eyes and close to the posterior border. Scutellum marked with a pattern of black and pinkish yellow. Tegmen transparent, grey apically; veins pink, costal margin black. Thorax and abdomen ventral surface pale yellow. Legs marked with a pattern of pink, yellow and brown. Length 6.8 mm, head width 2 mm (Evans 1936).
This species is externally similar to R. swani and R. carmiella but can usually be distinguished by being more distinctly marked with brown and scarlet and often larger than R. swani. The narrow apical region of the subgenital plate is distinctive (Webb 1983).
