Introduction

This largish species is only known from Mt Timbertop in Victoria and Nelson Bay on the New South Wales North Coast.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Yellow to brownish yellow. Head and thorax variably tinged with scarlet. Pronotum with an irregular longitudinal brown line medially and an irregular brown to scarlet patch on each side. Scutellum marked with brown. Forewings yellowish hyaline, tinged with brown; veins scarlet to brown or yellow in basal part of wing turning to brown in its distal part. Legs with a longitudinal brown patch on posterior surface of middle and hind femur and tibia, or only on hind femur and tibia. Abdomen with tergites broadly marked with dark brown anteriorly; sternites more narrowly marked with brown anteriorly. Male genitalia similar to those of R. swani (Evans) but aedeagus with basal stem slightly shorter and dorsoposterior neck longer. Length ♂ 7.1 mm (Webb 1983).
