- Oxymetopon compressus Chan, W.L. 1966. Oxymetopon compressus, a new eleotrid fish from Hong Kong. Japanese Journal of Ichthyology 14(1-3): 1-3 [2, fig. 1] [it is assumed that the derivation is from the Latin noun compressus = pressing together, rather than the adjective and was treated as a noun by the author].
Type data:
Holotype BMNH 1965.11.6.2, Taitam Bay, about 1500 yards northwest of Beaufort Island, Lemma Channel, Hong Kong.
