Adults: continental shelf.

Taxonomic Notes

Child (1975) tentatively places his six Rhopalorhynchus specimens (from Western Australia) under R. sibogae but remarks that they may be R. tenuissimum [or they may be a new species] since they differ in some respects from the original description of R. sibogae and also since sibogae was collected from Flores Island, Indonesia in 27-36 m and the WA specimens were collected from 113-139 m depth.
