Introduction

A widely spread species emanating from East Africa. The species exact route of introduction into Australia is unknown, but it is possible that it may have come via Vanuatu or New Caledonia. Its current distribution in Queensland is difficult to reconcile.

An introduced species recorded discontinuously from Goodnight Scrub, SE QLD to Mt Garnet, NE QLD.

Introduced from East Africa possibly via Vanuatu or New caledonia.

Diagnosis

Shell medium to large, cream, yellow or pink with solid or broken spiral bands of black, reddish-brown and bluish-grey, apex dark bluish-grey, conical and thin with rounded whorls; surface smooth, porcelain-like and opaque; lip simple; imperforate; height to 22 mm.
