Compiler and date details

Introduction
This catalogue recognises 4 genera and 51 species of Rhagionidae (Snipe Flies) from Australia. Little is known of the biology of the group. Adults of Spaniopsis and the extralimital genus Symphoromorpha are haematophagous (Nagatomi & Evenhuis 1989; James & Turner 1981). Larvae of Chrysopilus inhabit the soil. It is thought that they are predominantly predaceous.
