Diagnosis
Carapace subquadrate to ovate, short and wide. Greatest height nearly central. Carapace heavily reticulate. Prominent longitudinal dorsomarginal and even stronger keel-like ventromarginal ribs always present. Marginal pore canals numerous around anterior and posterior, mostly simple. Normal pores of sieve type. Hinge amphidont/heterodont.
