Family HEMICYTHERIDAE Puri, 1953

Diagnosis
Valves usually strongly calcified and ornamented, usually with caudal process. Fused zone wide, with many marginal pore canals. Antennula 5-segmented. Vibratory plate on mandibula usually with two rays. Knee of maxillula and thoracopods with complicated apodemes. Copulatory tube on hemipenis long and spiral.
