Type data:
Holotype QM T.6558 ♂ (coll.: x.1910, E. Sutton), Stanthorpe, Queensland
Comment: There is a discrepancy in the collection date of the holotype given in the original description, "10/10", and that found on the label data by Stevens (1994), "26-10-30".
Introduction
This species, described from Stanthorpe in SE Queensland, has also been identified from the Warra LTER site in southern Tasmania. Stevens (1994) stated that isolated specimens from widespread localities with strong similarities to P. mackei could not be referred to the species with certainty since there may be a complex of closely related species centred on this species. The Tasmanian record should probably be regarded as part of this complex although it is also possible that P. mackei is a widespread species in southeastern Australia represented by relatively few specimens in collections.
