Introduction

This largish, pale species is known from SE Queensland. A number of the paratypes are labelled from "Towba" which has been interpreted by Stevens (1994) as being Toowoomba, in the extreme eastern parts of Queensland's south brigalow belt. The species was "named in honour of Dr G.F. Gross, in recognition of his contribution to the study of Australian Hemiptera."

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Large, relatively pale species. Aedeagal shaft with two apical arms, anterior arm acute, lacking a preapical serrate area. Posterior arm with apex rounded and a single pair of preapically mounted spines. Second valvulae narrow, serrate region divided into coarsely serrate (distal) and finely serrate (proximal) areas (Stevens 1994).
