Species Pseudoceros boolool Newman & Cannon, 1994

Introduction

Pseudoceros boolool is usually found associated with colonial ascidians and beneath boulders or rubble. Specimens are uniformly dark in colour and are common at Heron Island, but rare at One Tree Island and in Papua New Guinea. Newman & Cannon (1994) suggest that this species may mimic the colouration pattern of the nudibranch Dendrodoris nigra (Stimpson, 1855); they report the two species as occurring in the same locality, often beneath the same coral rubble and boulders.
