Species Pseudobiceros uniarborensis Newman & Cannon, 1994

Introduction

One specimen of this species was found by Newman & Cannon (1994) with aberrant morphology; they reported that this specimen had two suckers. Newman & Cannon (1997) made further observations of the morphology of P. uniarborensis, stating that there is a range of colour patterns from opaque black on the southern Great Barrier Reef, through semi-transparent brown in Papua New Guinea, to light brown in specimens from the Philippines. In all these specimens, however, the marginal banding pattern is constant, leading Newman & Cannon (1997) to assign them all to the one species.
