Holotype QM G210624 (reef slope, 7.vi.1992, wholemount), Madang, Papua New Guinea [5°14'S 145°45'E].
Paratype(s) QM G210766, 796 (wholemount and sections), Madang, Papua New Guinea and Heron Island, Capricorn Bunker Group, southern Great Barrier Reef.
Introduction
Specimens of P. hymanae were collected originally in association with colonial ascidians and sponges on the reef slope in Papua New Guinea and at Heron Island (Newman & Cannon, 1997).
