Introduction
Newman & Cannon (1994) proposed the new combination of this species within Pseudobiceros Faubel, 1984; previously, this species was classified within Pseudoceros Lang, 1884. Specimens of P. hancockanus are the largest known of all the pseudocerotid flatworms. Specimens were found on orange-coloured sponges at Heron Island, and appeared to be feeding on the sponge, according to Newman & Cannon (1994).
