Species Pseudobiceros ferrugineus (Hyman, 1959)

Taxonomic Decision for Synonymy

Generic Combinations

  • Pseudobiceros ferrugineus (Hyman, 1954) [changed combination authority: Faubel, 19XX].
  • Pseudobiceros ferrugineus (Hyman, 1959).

Introduction

Originally described by Hyman (1959) as having two male pores, the description of this species was emended by Newman & Cannon (1994) as having only one male pore, but a distinctive, two-chambered prostate.

Newman & Cannon (1994) recognise Pseudoceros kentii as a synonym of Pseudoceros ferrugineus Hyman, 1959; the authors give no justification for their recognition of the later name, rather than P. kentii.
