Procephaleus bulbosa Evans, 1937 by original designation.
Introduction
This monotypic genus contains a species with the apex of the head slightly bulbous in comparison with the heads of species in other genera. Whether this is a valid generic character remains to be tested.

Diagnosis
The head is long, slightly bulbous apically and more or less circular* in cross section. The ocelli are rudimentary and the eyes are not prominent. The lateral portions of the anterior margin of the pronotum are not straight due to the backward prolongation of the eyes. The tegmina are coriaceous and the venation is distinct. The tibiae resemble those of Cephalelus spp. (Evans 1937).
*This is contradicted by the key published by Evans (1977) in which the face of the head is completely or medially flat in this genus.
