Introduction
Priocnemis is a large genus closely allied to Cryptocheilus (Harris, 1987). None of the Australian species have been placed in the currently recognised subgenera Priocnemis Schiødte, 1837, Trichocurgus Haupt, 1937, Umbripennis Junco y Reyes, 1947, Spatulocnemis Wolf, 1962, Ceratocnemis Wolf 1960, Moczarellus Wolf, 1960 or Leptopriocnemis Ishikawa, 1962.
