Species Polyzosteria mitchelli (Angas, 1847)
- Blatta mitchelli Angas, G.F. 1847. South Australia Illustrated. London : Thomas McLean 60 pls, in colour, with descriptive text. [pl. 48] [illustrated and named but not described, and location of specimen not specified; Mackerras, M.J. 1965. Australian Blattidae (Blattodea). I. General remarks and revision of the genus Polyzosteria Burmeister. Australian Journal of Zoology 13: 841–882 (876) states 'there is no type specimen but the coloured illustration in the book is quite diagnostic'. However, the present collection and geographic distribution of the species are considerably larger than known to Mackerras and having a type specimen for comparison is desirable over an illustration].
