Introduction

This species, which is unknown to the compiler, is only known from the holotype male from the central east coast of Queensland. It was named in honour of the collector, Dr David K. McAlpine of AM.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Yellow and black. Head yellow, ante- and postclypeus largely black and a broad black transverse band between the eyes. Pronotum and scutellum brownish yellow, muscle impressions on latter brown. Tegmen vitreous, pale yellowish, costal margin broadly, anal margin narrowly, and veins, black. Length ♂ 8.5 mm (Evans 1981).
