Introduction

Lallemand (1935) described a colour form from Burnside, Northern Territory which, under ICZN art. 45.6.4, is deemed of subspecific rank. The validity of the two subspecies needs to be checked as part of a revision of the genus.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

The two subspecies can be differentiated by colour - P. sicca sicca lacks a black stripe extending the length of the tegmen.
