Pinkbreast Siphonfish, Pink-breasted Siphon-fish, Pink-breasted Siphonfish, Silver Siphonfish
- Apogon roseigaster Ogilby, J.D. 1886. Exhibition of Apogon (Apogonichthys) roseigaster sp. nov. Abstracts of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales 1886: viii [Oct. 27] [viii] (description included only a mention of black lobes on side of tongue, which is regarded here as consistent with Article 12.1 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature as a description prior to 1931; some authors date the species from the formal description in 1887) [description appeared subsequently in Ramsay, E.P. & Ogilby, J.D. 1887. Description of a new Australian Fish. Notes from the Australian Museum. Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales 2 1: 1101-1102; derivation is apparently from the Latin roseus + the Greek gaster = belly and is a noun in apposition].
