Diagnosis
Valves short, subrhomboidal, in lateral outline very similar to Loxoconchella. Greatest height behind middle. Valves heavily inflated centrally, with compressed peripheral zone. Obtuse subdorsal caudal process present. Surface smooth or pitted. Valves thin. Inner lamella fairly wide throughout, narrowest in oral region. Line of concrescence and inner margin widely separated anteriorly, elsewhere running at variable distance from each other, except in oral region where coincident. Marginal pore canals simple and more or less straight. Normal pores open.
