Diagnosis

Actiniidae with broad pedal disc. The whole column with large, oval, simple vesicles very close set in somewhat irregular rows. No spherules. Fosse well developed. Sphincter broad, diffuse. Tentacles rather short numerous. Longitudinal muscles of tentacles and radial muscles of oral disc mesogloeal. 2 broad siphonoglyphs. Mesenteries numerous, hexamerously arranged. Retractors diffuse, parietobasilar muscles well developed, basilar muscles distinct. Primary and secondary mesenteries may be sterile. More mesenteries at the base than at the margin. Cnidom: spirocysts, basitrichs, microbasic p-mastigophores.
