Tribe Phantiini Melichar, 1923

Introduction

This tribe is represented in Australia by five species in four genera, two of which are endemic at the genus level. The species in the Phantiini tend to be small with Phantiopsis australiaca Melichar given the guernsey as the smallest known species of Flatidae by Melichar (1923).

 

Diagnosis

A cette tribu appartiennent tous les genres qui ont le clavus prolongé jusqu'à l'angle sutural des élytres; la partie apicale des élytres est par conséquent très courte. Elytres courts, aussi longs que larges ou un peu plus longs que larges, à bord apical droit, et à angles arrondis. Tête tantôt prolongée en cone, droit en avant ou arrondie (Melichar 1923).
