Phaenocora unipunctata Ørsted, 1843 by original designation.
Introduction
Species of Phaenocora are distributed worldwide in freshwater habitats, however, only one species is known to occur in Australia. A comprehensive review of the genus is provided by Houben et al. (2014), in which 28 species are recognised as valid, with a further three included as species inquirenda, five as nomina dubia and one as a nomen nudum. Houben et al. provide detailed revisions of each species and include a dichotomous key to all species.
