Introduction

This species is similar in general structure to species of Rubria Stål in that both genera lack the knobbled texture and carinate dorsum of other Australian Ledrinae although species of Rubria lack the reticulated wing venation found in the Ledrini, including Petalocephala.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Dilute flavescens, rugosopunctata; capite subparalello, apice late rotundato; thorace basi leviter sinuato; hemelytris dense punctatis, costa basin versus flava. Long. 12, lat. 3¾ mm. (Stål 1854).

Yellowish cinereous, paler beneath. Eyes dark, ocelli red. Closely and obsolescently irrorate with pallid yellowish. Closely and strongly punctured. Vertex longer than wide, slightly carinate longitudinally, sloping down on each side of this, apical margin narrowly angulate. Rostrum not reaching to base of mesosternum. Anterior margin of pronotum rounded, posterior margin almost truncate at scutellum. Posterior tibiae 4-spined. Length 12 mm. (Kirkaldy 1906, of Rhotidus ingens).
