Diagnosis

Allied to Idiocerus Lewis, but differs by having no subapical cells. There is a tegminal appendix, and the supernumerary cell of the wing is present. In the males the antennae are simple. Frons convex, anterolateral margins rounded (Kirkaldy 1906).

A conmprehensive redescription of the species was provided by Maldonado Capriles (1972).

This Oriental genus can be distinguished from other Australian genera by the open second subapical cell of the forewing, the fusion of the male segment X to the pygophore and the very narrow second valvulae of the ovipositor (Webb 1983).
