Diagnosis

Body columnar, very contractile, height approximately 10 mm, diameter 8 mm. Column colour mealy pink with 12 longitudinal grey bands, of which 6 are broad and 6 narrow. Column ectoderm very thin, with dark-brown granules, mesogloea moderately developed, no cinclides observed. Oral disc diameter slightly larger than column diameter, mouth with 2 siphonoglyphs. Oral disc with tawny orange lines along sides of mouth, with pencilled white, dark grey and black streaks, often a series of black spots up some of the white radii, mouth with five dark spots at each side, and a white one at each end. Actinopharynx creamy orange. Tentacles, short, 48, in four cycles, whitish. Ectoderm of tentacles thick and transversely wrinkled. Marginal sphincter large, consists of large number of rounded muscle cavities, numerous at margin and gradually diminishing proximally. Four cycles of mesenteries, second and third cycle fertile, fourth cycle mesenteries are minute mesogleal projections. Retractor muscles weak, extend along length of mesentery face. Actonia present, but not numerous.
