Extra Distribution Information
Only recorded from Consuelo Tableland, Carnarvon Range in central Queensland. All specimens were collected in a monospecific stand of mature trees of Eucalyptus laevopinea R. Baker at an altitude of 1200 m.
Known only from type locality.
Australian Endemic.

Diagnosis
Adults are superficially very similar to P. sarcodes. Flight period overlaps also for the two species, however the large distance between the distribution areas of the two species is probably enough to distinguish them. The distinctly strongly expanded membranous region and width of the ductus of P. sarcodes also distinguishes it from the more typical form of the female genitalia of P. maranoa.
