Diagnosis

The transversely corrugated appearance of the forewings of this species due to scale arrangement is distinctive in the genus. The forewings are relatively broader in this species than any other member of the genus with the exception of P. tasmanica. The female corpus bursae is similar in shape to that of P. porphyrinaria.
