Introduction
This species was synonymised with Paracephaleus brunneus (Waterhouse) by Evans (1966) but was reinstated by Knight (1973) who stated that, despite the two species being indistinguishable from each other externally, the male genitalia showed that they were distinct species. P. pallidus is only known from the type locality in the Australian Capital Territory.

All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
General coloration pale straw. Ocelli absent. Tegmen punctate, apically narrow; venation obscure. Length 12 mm; of head 4.8 mm (Evans 1947).
