Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

General coloration, ♂ pale straw colour, ♀ pale brown. Length, wingless ♂, 8–9 mm; wingless ♀, 9 mm; length of head, 2.8–3 mm. P. dobsonensis differs from P. brunneus (Waterhouse) in the proportions of the head in relation to the rest of the body and in having the apex of the head less acute. It differs from P. montanus Evans in being considerably larger and in having less prominent eyes (Evans 1966).
