Introduction

This finely elongate species is mainly distributed around the southeastern parts of mainland Australia and Tasmania although Evans (1966) also gives a record from the Swan Valley in Western Australia.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Pale brown. Head with anterior produced part rather broad and rounded. Long. Corp. 5–5½ lin. (Waterhouse 1839).

General coloration even yellowish brown. Length, winged ♂ 9.2 mm, wingless ♂ 12 mm; of crown 3.8 and 5 mm (Evans 1966).
