Introduction

Psilidae is a very small family of flies, particularly in Australia where specimens of only two undescribed species have been recorded.

In Australia, there is virtually nothing known about their biology. In the Holarctic region, they are known to frequent moist habitats. Larvae have been observed amongst roots and in plant galls.
