Diagnosis

Carapace only moderately broad, not obviously convex in both directions; eyestalks of normal length; anterolateral margins with five teeth. Antenna arising from orbital hiatus and lying almost along longitudinal axis of carapace; basal segment broad; flagellum standing inside orbit. Chelipeds and legs both stout and long, one pair of legs as long as chelipeds; last legs with typical swimming paddles, rounded or moderately lanceolate; basal joint of second antenna broad.
