Introduction
The genus Pleurogorgia Versluys, 1902 was recorded by Alderslade et al. (2014) as present in south-eastern Australia, however the specimens were later placed in the new genus Aurogorgia as A. tasmaniensis Alderslade, Cairns & Cordeiro, 2021. The presence of Pleurogorgia in Australia is therefore uncertain and we do not include it here.
