Introduction
Parastebocarids are tiny, the adult being less than 05 mm. They are generally inhabitants of freshwater groundwater and almost all species live interstitially. A few tropical species, however, have be found in damp moss (Boxshall & Halsey 2004). Currently, five genera are recognised in this family (Dussart & Defaye 2001), and one genus with two species are recorded for the Australian fauna.
