Diagnosis

Medium-sized anemone, column 10-15 mm long, grey with reddish-brown to dark green spots on verrucae especially near oral end, and brown radial stripes near pedal end. Tentacles, up to 96, concentrated near margin. Pedal disc diameter 15-20 mm, broader than length of column, well developed, adhesive. Oral disc dark red, flat and open, diameter to 10mm. Actinopharynx sulcated, 2 siphonoglyphs. Tentacles at the margin approximately 20 mm long, beige with a white base with grey stripes near the oral disc. Sand and shell grit attached to more proximal verrucae; acrorhagi prominent, distalmost verrucae form fronds that appear as a ruff at the margin. 48 pairs of mesenteries, all, except directives, fertile. Retractors diffuse, parietobasilar muscles well developed.
