Introduction
This species is only known from Lizard Island in far North Queensland. It has had a reasonably uncertain taxonomic history but its identity was finally established by Constant (2018). The species has been recorded on Ipomoea pes-caprae (L.) Roth (family Convolvulaceae).

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: phloem feeder (associated flora: Ipomaea pes-caprae (L.) Roth [CONVOLVULACEAE]).
Diagnosis
Nigra; metathorace, abdomine coxisque posticis coccineis, ventre apice nigro; tegminibus (expansis) disco indeterminate fuscescente-cinnamomeis, ibidem pallidius conspersis, corii limbo apicali albido, ejusdem macula transversa ante medium clavique macula media stramineis; alis nigro-fuscis, basi dilutioribus, macula maxima discoidali dilute lutescente, limbo apicali albido. ♀ Long. 7.5, Exp. 22 mill. (Stål 1863)
This species can be recognized by the following combination of characters: (1) hind wings with large conspicuous orange marking and with narrow apical white border in females; (2) pro- and mesofemora and -tibiae largely black-brown; (3) anal tube of male acuminate apically and narrowing basally to level of epiproct; (4) centroventral part of gonostyli with long and narrow process curved ventrointernally; (5) laterodorsal part of gonostyli with long and narrow process curved ventrally; (6) rather large size: 9–11 mm (Constant 2018).
