Introduction

This species is only known from Haunted Cave, Chillagoe in the Einasleigh Uplands Bioregion. The species was named for Prof. Dr Thierry Bourgoin (MNHN, Paris), who collected the type series.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

This species can be recognized by the following combination of characters: (1) hind wings with conspicuous orange marking; (2) pro- and mesofemora and tibiae largely yellowish; (3) anal tube of male oblong with posterior margin emarginate; (4) centroventral part of gonostyli with long laminate process; (5) laterodorsal part of gonostyli with falcate process directed centroventrally; (6) rather large size: 9–10 mm (Constant 2018).
